Ok, I realize that my AI tout record isn’t all that good. I chose Tami Gosnell as one to watch when the show hit Hollywood, and of course, she was promptly dispatched. But tonight, dear friends, let me tell you, Nashville’s own, Melinda Doolittle was the party.
She chose the difficult-to-sing ‘My Funny Valentine’ and nailed it to the wall. The key to singing ‘Valentine’ (beyond the singing in tune and knowing the words stuff) is the phrasing. Sing it to the beat and you’ve got twelve beers to the bad karoke. Rush it, and you’ve got a jingle for L.A. Weight Loss Center. Hold it in a bit, and let it roll out slowly….
Ms. Doolittle gets the song, and if I was a voting type of person, she would have gotten my vote.
On the other hand, faux-porn star Antonella Barba attempted to sing Celine Dion. I’m re-thinking my stance on capital punishment. Pathetic meets bathos. We all lose. America…do your job!

We turned it on just in time to see Antonella murder that Celine song, so I missed both Lakisha and Melinda. They are both phenomenal. The rest of the girls, erg. I really like Gina, but I don’t think she’ll last. Stephanie and Jordin are also good, but the rest of the girls are totally forgettable.

Melinda Doolittle will released her first album in fall and she also work on Holiday’s cd come join us to the new website http://www.mdstreetteam.com and stop to the forum if you want to share with us what you feel, great pictures video’s and also update about her events.
