And this month’s winner of the Gloria Steinem Feminist Spirit Award, or, do shoes come in cornbread flavor?

Goes to Celtic WRKO radio analyst (and former Celtics star), Cedric ‘Cornbread’ Maxwell.

While ‘analysing’ the skills of NBA ref Violet Palmer, Cedric urged her ‘get back in the kitchen’. When his broadcast partner offered him a lifeline, Maxwell wisely responded by yelling…’Get back in the kitchen and make me some bacon and eggs’.

Maxwell is being told to apologize or have his cornbread burnt going to willingly apologize in an upcoming broadcast, and will not be disciplined or released for his comments. Fellow WRKO talk-jock John DePetro was not as fortunate when he was fired for calling Green Party gubernatorial candidate Grace Ross a ‘fat lesbian’ on the air.

My superior prognostication powers tells me that WRKO employees will be attending sensitivity classes in the near future.

  1. That last line was great, John.

  2. Man, Cedric ‘Cornbread’ Maxwell sounds like a classy brute. Glad I’ve never ever heard of him.
